ASSISI WEEKEND TRIP

Join us for a weekend among the rolling hills of Umbria! Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, is one of Italy's most inspiring destinations and, this year, commemorates the 800th anniversary of his death.

It is a place where time seems to slow down, inviting visitors to experience a rhythm of life shaped by silence, beauty, and community.

You'll explore the Basilica of San Francesco and its breathtaking Giotto frescoes, wander through the medieval streets of the historic center, and share a sunset meditation overlooking the Spoleto Valley from the Rocca Maggiore. On the second day, we'll walk through the Bosco di San Francesco, a peaceful nature reserve where woodland trails meet contemporary land-art installations, before taking part in engaging cultural and spiritual activities around town before our return to Rome.

A special part of this journey will be the presence of Fr. Riccardo, John Cabot University's Chaplain, who will accompany the group throughout the weekend. He will introduce us to the spiritual heritage of Assisi and celebrate Mass in English in one of the city's historic churches, offering a rare opportunity to experience the Franciscan tradition in an intimate and meaningful setting.

Blending faith, history, art, nature, and moments of shared reflection, this weekend offers far more than a typical getaway. Whether you come for the spirituality, the rich cultural heritage, the slow pace of life, the delicious Umbrian cuisine, or simply the chance to disconnect and reconnect with yourself and others, Assisi promises an unforgettable experience to share.
