Trade Rome’s busy streets for sea breeze and sandy beaches. Start with a water sports lesson at Point Break, have lunch by the sea, explore the nature trails of the Oasi WWF Macchiagrande reserve, and end the day with more waves, beach time or a game of beach volleyball.

The route:
- Morning: Water sports lesson at Point Break: surfing, or windsurfing or SUP if conditions aren’t right for surfing
- Lunch: A light lunch of pasta and fruit
- Early afternoon: Walk the trails of Oasi WWF Macchiagrande, a protected area of Mediterranean vegetation and wildlife
- Late afternoon: Back at Point Break for free time, an optional extra surf session or beach volleyball, then return to Rome
What’s included:
- Round-trip train and transfers between the station and the beach Water sports lesson (surf, windsurf or SUP, depending on conditions)
- Light lunch with pasta and fruit
- Admission to Oasi WWF Macchiagrande
- JCU staff with you all day
Not included: Surfboard rental for the optional extra session (€5), dinner, extra snacks and drinks
Fitness & preparation: No experience needed: the lesson works for complete beginners and for students already comfortable in the water. Be ready to spend most of the day outdoors and in the sea. Water sports depend on weather and sea conditions, and the program may change if needed.
What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes.

- Participants must be at least 18 years old by the start of the trip
- An athletic physical by an Italian sports doctor, done within 12 months of the trip start date, is required. Questions: athletics@johncabot.edu
