Day Trip: SUP & Hike – Two Lakes Explorer

Discover the beauty of Rome’s hidden gems on this unforgettable day trip! Start your morning with a fun SUP tour on Albano Lake in Castel Gandolfo, gliding across crystal-clear waters surrounded by volcanic hills and ancient villas. In the afternoon, trade your paddle for hiking boots and follow the historic Via Francigena trail through lush countryside to Nemi, the charming “town of strawberries.” Enjoy breathtaking views, fresh air, and local flavors in this perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

  • Discover the origins and legends behind the twin volcanic lakes

What's Included: 

  • Train trip from Roma Termini to Castel Gandolfo 
  • Local shuttle transportation from Castel Gandolfo train station to Saroli Club 
  • Shuttle transportation from Nemi to Stazione Trastevere 
  • Sup tour experience with SUP Adventure: theory class, complete equipment (board, paddle, wetsuit), instructors, practical class and tour along the lake, use of facilities at Saroli Club 
  • Welcome coffee, light lunch, and snack 
  • Free hiking boots rental (mandatory for all participants) 
  • Friendly and knowledgeable guides and JCU representatives throughout the trip

Trip Info & Deadlines: 

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old by the start of the trip  
  • Registration deadline: Friday, 20 February 2026 
  • Withdrawal deadline: Friday, 20 February 2026 
  • Trip switch deadline: Thursday, 26 March 2026 
  • Pre-departure Mandatory Meeting: Wednesday, 1 April 2026 
  • No-show or late cancellation fee: € 95 
  • Minimum participants: 17 
  • Max participants: 25 
  • Additional meals and snacks not included

  • SUP: Easy/Beginner 
  • HIKE: Easy/Moderate 
An athletic physical conducted by an Italian sports doctor within 12 months of the trip start date is required. For more information, please email athletics@johncabot.edu.
